Repairing the Brokenness with Gold...

Repairing the effects of trauma and abuse is not only possible, but can the work itself can act as a pathway to transformation.

Establishing and maintaining a surer sense of safety and well-being in the 'here and now' - both within and beyond the therapy room- is central to this work.

The power of the present moment is unfathomable.

The use of mindfulness can be a vital tool to discover how trauma might be influencing us in our everyday lives, enabling us to feel freer from its charge as a result.

Sessions can include sensing how our emotional state can affect what's going on in the body, either through pain or hyper/hypo states, and discovering ways to ease these.

''We can acknowledge and even honor the past, but we don't have to stay stuck there.
We don't have to live our lives forever defined by damaging things that happened to us.''

Lindo Bacon 'Radical Belonging'

Like the tortoise who carries a home on its back, so our work will develop ways to bring more of a feeling of belonging and comfort within ourselves in each present moment.

EMDR can be an effective way of helping to free up from the hold
that traumatic memory can have on us.

I incorporate this alongside the psychotherapy work.

Sessions including this will last 30 minutes longer than the usual hour.

I do not work with EMDR online.
